Abu Dhabi, February 23rd, 2012
Marking its 6th session, the T6 journey facilitated by the Altaaat Leadership Development Institute, met this time at the Etisalat headquarters offices in Abu Dhabi. Organized by Mrs. Ban Al Moosawi, Senior Manager – Regional Network Development, and participant in the program, the team met this time with Eng. Abdalla Ahmad Abdalla, the Director of Customer Services. A pure Etisalat breed, having graduated from the Etisalat College (known now as Khalifa University) and grown himself a step at a time into his current role bears great witness for him having well earned his way towards that position.
“Holding a leadership position at Etisalat”, as he proclaims, “is certainly not an easy task. For one you have to work within the confinements of an existing, well-established and sophisticated system, which expects you to adopt and mold yourself to. Furthermore, different units assigned under you, call for very different sets of leadership styles; nurturing such type of situational leadership skill certainly doesn’t happen overnight”.
The various examples referenced on situational leadership, which he had personally experienced in his years with Etisalat, gave life to this important concept in participants’ minds. A concept that clearly carried its own set of challenges and expectations as had been witnessed.
Towards the end of the session, the Etisalat team commended efforts put in by the Altaaat Leadership Development Institute in developing the national caliber, and the session concluded with another set of real-life leadership lessons and examples that participants were able to take away and learn from.Back
